Shipping and Handling

Costs of shipping and handling

Shipping and handling fees on international orders are calculated by weight and destination. International orders that weigh less than 5 kg are shipped via registered airmail by the Israel Postal Company; Heavier packages are sent via Express International Mail Service (EMS)
Orders shipped abroad are handed to the Israel Postal Service within 2-8 business days from the purchase date.
In a week you can start tracking your order on IPC track&trace webpageFor registered mail sent abroad, the order can be tracked (after the mail has left Israel), via the destination country's postal company website.

Shipping via IPC takes approximately 3-4 weeks to arrive. Shipping fees via EMS are higher but should arrive within seven business days from the purchase date. Customs in the destination country will sometimes delay delivery.

Magnes press cannot control the handling and shipping times of the Israel post service or the Israeli export authority but will check and deal with any problems/delays if necessary.

Delays may be expected during Jewish + national holidays, Fridays and Saturdays, during 1-15th of June (Hebrew books festival – Shvua Ha-Sefer) and 15-31st of August when the Hebrew University closes for its summer vacation.

Recommendation – for cheaper shipping try to stay below 5 KG (even if that means making two separate orders.)

Once you complete your order and move to payment you will be asked to sign in (returning customers) or register (new customers). After you sign in or register the system calculates shipping cost based on package weight and your address and adds the applicable charge to your order total.
If you ship to an address in Israel the shipping is only calculated by weight. The prices within Israel are as follows: $4.47 (up to 500g), $5.78 (up to a 1000g) and $6.31 (up to 2000g). All orders over 2KG cost $13.33 .
