Shipping and Handling

Shipping and handling costs

International shipping and handling fees are calculated by weight and destination. International shipments weighing less than 5 kg are shipped via registered airmail operated by the Israel Postal Company; heavier packages are sent via Express International Mail Service (EMS).
Orders shipped abroad are handed to the Israel Postal Service within 2-8 business days of the purchase date.
One week after placing your order you can start tracking it on the IPC track&trace webpage. Registered mail sent abroad can be tracked (once the parcel leaves Israel), via the destination country's postal company website.

IPC shipments take approximately 3-4 weeks to arrive. EMS shipping is more expensive but should arrive within seven business days of the purchase date. Customs in the destination country may delay arrival.

Magnes Press cannot control the handling and shipping times of the Israel Postal Service or the Israel Tax Authority but will check and deal with any problems/delays if necessary.

Delays can be expected during Jewish and national holidays, Fridays and Saturdays, 7-17th of June (Hebrew book festival – Shvua Ha-Sefer) and 15-31st of August when the Hebrew University is on summer break.

Recommendation – for cheaper shipping try to stay below 5 kg (even if that means placing two separate orders).

Once you complete your order and continue to payment you will be asked to sign in (returning customers) or register (new customers). After you sign in or register the system calculates shipping costs based on package weight and your address and adds the applicable charge to your order total.
If you ship to an address in Israel the total is only calculated by weight. The prices within Israel are as follows: $4.47 (up to 500g), $5.78 (up to a 1000g) and $6.31 (up to 2000g). All orders over 2 kg cost $13.33.
